Are you noticing a yellow tint on your monitor that seems to have appeared out of nowhere? Not knowing what’s causing that can be frustrating.
How to Get Rid of Yellow Tint on Monitor
There are many, many reasons why there’s yellow tint on your monitor and more often than not the solution is easy. It is probably just the night light setting that is annoying you or the default color profile that you are not liking. You can make small changes to your settings and solve all these problems with ease. However, there are also hardware issues and software problems that may result in a yellow tint. Let’s learn about each and find solutions:
Change the night light setting
In the search bar, type Display for the Display settings to show up. Here if you see that the Night Light option is on by default, switch it off. You will immediately see a difference.
Change the default colour profile
In the search bar, type Colour Management and click on the Colour Management option. You will see a drop-down menu box that lets you select whichever option you prefer. Once you choose, check the option that says “Use my settings for this device.”
A little below, you will see “Add”. Click on that. A new window will open up. Select whichever option you prefer here and save by clicking on OK. Choose Set as Default Profile Button. You are done!
Recheck all the connections
The yellow tint is probably just due to loose connections or damaged wires. Check all the connections to see if there is any discrepancy. If yes, you may need to get that fixed to get rid of the yellow tint.
Recheck the video card
If the video card is not inserted properly, it may manifest as a yellow tint on the monitor. Open the case of your computer and check if it is inserted well. Also, if the video card is quite old, the software may have issues. Check the official website and see if there is an updated driver package. If yes, download that.
Adjust the video card’s configuration
The custom configuration tool will give you details of the color support and most manufacturers let you make changes to a certain extent. You can adjust the colour according to your preferences, and that will sort your issue. Configuration errors are among the top reasons why yellow tint appears. Be careful about that.
If none of this works, we recommend that you reach out to a professional and get the issue sorted.
This guide should help you take care of yellow tint on the monitor if it is a common issue. Hardwired, complex problems may need the expertise of a professional. All the best.
